Radio Control Glider Information

A number of Sonoma Wings pilots are into RC sailplanes as a way to get their flying fix when their HG / PG is grounded.
This page has information of interest to current RC'ers in the club as well as those who'd like to join in on the fun.

Radio Frequencys and Channels:

We're all using the RC Aircraft "band" at 72MHZ (from 72.010 to 72.990). In order for a bunch of pilots to fly (and dog-fight) together, each pilot must be on a different frequency (designated as channels).
Here's a list of channels used by club members. Note that two pilots using the same channel, but one FM and the other AM, will still interfere with each other.

Zagi foam flying wing

Zagi Home Page.
The all-EPP Zagi is called the EPP-Combat. It's the model that all our Zagi pilots have. Except for Bob Stanley - he's got a Boomerang. It looks identical to a Zagi, but 6 oz. lighter and a cleaner airfoil.
And, there's a Zagi EPP Foam Thermalling Plane. Andy built one of these for his nephew. "It will stay up in really light stuff and thermals great. Not a tank at all. Really tough too."

Dave's Aircraft Works

Dave's Aircraft Works is another source for EPP foam planes. He has a variety of planes, for general flying and for combat. Ernie has this one, the TG-3 trainer, which he's named "The Blue Bus". Click the image to go to Dave's home page. You'll find combat contest rules and EPP tips & tricks there too.
