2001 Lone Star Championship

The US "Lone Star" Nationals will be held Aug. 11-18, 2001. The entry fee is $250 until July 10th, and after that date the fee is $300. Participation in this meet is determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. This means a completed entry form and payment. You can find the registration form on the Nationals website, accessed from the AAS home page http://www.austinairsports.com.
The meet is limited to 75 pilots and we are currently half full. The package of 10 2,000' aero tows ($150) must be purchased at the competition sign-in (all day on the 10th and prior to the first round of competition on the 11th).
We will have the same caterers we used at the LSC, with vegetarian food provided by Judy Hildebrand (there is a "vegetarian" option on the entry form, which will help us to accommodate everyone's eating preference). We will have meal tickets available at sign-in for both breakfast ($5) and dinner ($8.50) which will also help us with the ordering.
We have the Fireman's Hall reserved for the entire week, and AAS will be sponsoring the Award's Ceremony dinner again, with a repeat of a "Texas-Style" shrimp boil (fresh gulf shrimp with all the fixin's).
There will be free camping and showers at the airport, and we have a limited number of RV hook-ups. It will be important to let us know if you are bringing an RV or anything needing electricity. We will be posting updated information regarding the camping, RV hook-ups, and motels on the Nationals website, which can be accessed from the AAS home page (http://www.austinairsports.com).
We plan to have more shade available (tents and tarps), and we are committed to making it easier for glider transport to the launch area (more dollies and a "shuttle" service).
