  • Elk Mountain, Upper Lake CA: The Elk Mountain flying site is “officially” closed at this time. The Elk Mtn. Rd is closed where it crosses private property with numerous downed trees and no planned reopening. The launch area has also not been maintained for over 10 years. Elk Mtn. lies within the Mendocino National Forest.
  • Hull Mountain, Lake Pillsbury CA: The Hull Mountain flying site is “officially” closed at this time. Continued road closures and damage have limited seasonal access and the launch area is no longer being maintained in a safe manner. There are no plans to improve the launch area at this time. Hull Mountain lies within the Mendocino National Forest.
  • St John, Stonyford CA
  • The St. John Mountain flying site is closed at this time due to numerous road closures and storm damage during 2022 and 2023. The launch ramp has deteriorated to unusable with shrubs encroaching. There are no plans to rehabilitate or repair the launch area. Mount St. John lies within the Mendocino National Forest.
