Who We Are

Sonoma Wings is a hang gliding club, based in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California.

There are 4 things that we, as a club, are dedicated to:

Encouraging a sense of community among area hang glider pilots.

Establishing and preserving flying sites so as to protect the rights and property of land owners.

Promoting safety and education.

Making the USHPA rating system more accessible to area pilots.

We accomplish these goals by:

Maintaining communication through this web site, organizing flying trips (see our Club Calendar), and flying together every chance we get.

. Administering 4 flying sites in our area, and actively working with all parties at all sites we fly.

Covering safety issues at every club meeting, and talking safety whenever we fly.

Having USHPA Observers in our club.

We are primarily oriented toward Hang Gliding, but we have several Paragliding members too.
We encourage anyone, whether simply interested in the sports of Hang Gliding and Paragliding, just starting on the adventure of foot-launched flight, or already an experienced pilot, to contact us and join our family.
