From the Editor
What can I say. I've been bad. This August issue of the newsletter is being
written at the end of October. Baaaad!. I've been collecting stuff right
along, so I'll be compiling it here. Unfortunately, not much has been submitted
by club members so I've snatched some interesting threads from the internet
hang gliding email list. If you want to know what's been happening with the
club since the last newsletter in June, you need to go to the
archived flight reports.
Our club pilots may not be into submitting articles for the newsletter, but by gum
they're quite willing to detail their flying exploits! Go to the flight reports
to hear all about flying in Spain, Idaho, and Texas, as well as the regular
weekend exploits at Hull and St. John.
Newsletter items this month
Since my landings still leave a lot to be desired, I've been saving off any tidbits of advice that have cropped up on the HG list. In the last month or two there have been some great contributions on both launching and landing. Take your time and read through them - more than once. Think about the scenarios presented, and run through them in your imagination. It's kind of like muscle memory - play them over in your mind enough times and it can be as effective as actually flying the pattern. Enjoy!Club Meeting
Come to the meeting on Thursday, 8/23 at Round Table Pizza in Santa Rosa.--Ernie Camacho--
