St. John Fly-In 2007

All those who have attended our previous St John's Fly Ins know what a great weekend this is. For those of you who haven't been to one, then you should plan on being there, August 10, 11, 12.

This year the competitions and the barbeque & awards party will all be on Saturday, 8/11, with fun flying and XC on Friday and Sunday. That way those who need to leave early on Sunday can still participate in the competition and enjoy the barbeque. To make the scoring fair and easy paragliders and hang gliders will have separate tasks and awards. The Saturday tasks this year will not be open distance, but designed instead to get pilots back to the barbeque in Stonyford by around 5 p.m.

There will be the usual awesome prizes, and prizes in past years have been both abundant and excellent. There will be a dinner, raffles, T shirts, and GREAT FLYING. The cost will be $30.00 per pilot (includes prizes, BBQ, and t-shirt), and $12.00 each for the BBQ only. Extra t-shirts will be $15.00. Soft drinks included at the BBQ.

Pilots need to be hang 4 rated, or hang 3 with mountain flying experience. 2M Ham radios with licensed operators are essential for safe XC pickup. Everyone is responsible for their own retrieval.
